Date: 25 July 2019
Time: 09:00am
Venue: The Wanderers | 21 North Street Illovo

What is RPL?

RPL stands for Recognition of prior learning and describes a process used by regulatory bodies to evaluate skills and knowledge acquired outside the classroom for the purpose of recognising competence against a given set of standards, competencies, or learning outcomes.

What about RPL in South Africa?

RPL in SA has, unlike similar initiatives in other countries, a very specific agenda. RPL is meant to support transformation of the education and training system of the country.

Karen Deller is a primary RPL provider in South Africa and she will be one of our speakers. The discussion is specifically within the context of how Professional Bodies approach the issue of RPL - both in-terms of recognising qualifications and also in-terms of admitting people with experience but not qualifications into Designations.
